the inspiration

I am extremely passionate about type 2 diabetes. Diabetes to me is like a narcissistic psycho/sociopath stalker ex-boyfriend or girlfriend that you can’t get rid of. Saying, No matter where you go, no matter what you do, no matter who you’re with, I’ll be there to wreak havoc. You’re never getting rid of me. Muah ha ha haaaaaa!

It’s boggled my mind for decades regarding the lack of products available to us diabetics. Everything we eat affects our blood sugar levels, yet at the same time this is a disease where you have to feed it. It is very difficult to control, and most non-diabetics are not empathetic towards our struggle. We constantly receive a lot of negative criticism and dismissive attitudes about our issues.

However, I am not one who believes in hurling harsh accusations at people by saying things like It’s your fault! Why don’t you guys just stop eating sugar! You’re the ones who did this to yourselves! It’s your fault that your bodies are in the condition that they’re in, and on, and on it goes. Not taking into consideration the diabolical ingredients manufacturers are legally able to put inside of our foods, the chemicals and additives that break our systems down and make them an easy breeding ground for diseases. Not to mention the atrocious American diet all of us were raised on, whose purpose is to make us addicted to the copious amounts of sugar, carbs, starches, salts, and fats in each item. Let’s not forget the nefariously crafted commercials that send signals to our brains to buy and consume this junk for the sake of capitalism. Food is addictive, and THEY know it.

I personally am not able to put a stop to this, but I certainly can help. I believe in meeting people where they are, and not constantly spewing out of my mouth where I think they should be. Now, is it imperative that we take accountability and responsibility for our lack of portion control…

What we’ve chosen to consume… And how we’ve chosen to consume it? Yes. Yet at the same time, we also need a compassionate and understanding hand up.  And The Sugar is here to lend that hand. It IS NOT all your fault!  We can’t stop this psycho, unfortunately. But we can FIGHT BACK!

The Sugar is not only good for diabetics and pre-diabetics, but it also helps individuals who suffer from celiac disease and gluten intolerance. Also for those who are trying to win the battle of the bulge, and those individuals who just want to live a healthier lifestyle while still enjoying delicious treats, look no further! Please keep in mind that our products DO NOT make you loose weight, they are simply a great alternative to the junk food out there.

The Sugar uses quality (and even some imported) ingredients. Click through and see what a little bit of love and understanding can get you, one cupcake at a time. Enjoy!
